Ultraviolet radiation is light energy at a very short wavelength. Special quartz lamps produce ultraviolet radiation at the optimum wavelength for destroying the organic nucleus of microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, or moulds that may be present in your water.

Culligan UV devices have a specially designed stainless steel disinfection chamber in which the UV lamp is installed. The unique shape of the tube through which the water flows prolongs the exposure to the powerful ultraviolet radiation. This allows Culligan UV systems to eliminate 99.99% of bacteria and viruses. Options for our commercial systems include an Optical Sensor to monitor the intensity of the ultraviolet radiation (see Model 6L below) and a thermostat which switches off the UV lamp and drains the system should water temperatures rise beyond the appropriate level.

1S and 2S UV DEVICES

The optimal technology for insuring the elimination of microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, or moulds that may be present in your water.

'It has been demonstrated that exposure to ultraviolet radiation at the dosages and wavelengths used in Culligan devices eliminates 99.99% of bacteria and viruses in the treated water.

All it takes to install a Culligan UV device is a simple connection to the water supply and a power point. No manual operations, monitoring, or special devices are needed -- it's fully automatic.

The only maintenance required is periodic cleaning of the quartz sleeves and replacement of the ultraviolet lamp (every 12-16 months).

6L - OPTICAL SENSOR

For even greater security, an optional Optical Sensor may be installed on the system. The state of the art probe monitors only the level of effective, germicidal ultraviolet radiation.

Levels are displayed continuously and an automatic "minimum level" alarm, capable of being linked to a remote connection, sounds the alert if protection falls below the minimum level established.

Aquada UV

Ultraviolet (UV) light is a natural component of sunlight, falling just below the spectrum of visible light. Certain wavelengths of UV light, have the natural ability to destroy microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, cysts, etc. without the use of chemicals or by-products.
